Position overview

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented LMS Administrator to manage and optimize our Learning Management System (LMS) at MindSpring. The LMS Administrator will play a key role in overseeing all aspects of the LMS platform, ensuring smooth implementation, maintenance, and user support for all employees, managers, and stakeholders. This role is vital to ensuring that our learning initiatives are accessible, effective, and aligned with organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • LMS Administration:
    • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the LMS platform (e.g., configuration, user access, course management, and reporting).
    • Ensure the LMS is consistently running at optimal performance and troubleshoot any technical issues.
    • Manage user roles, permissions, and profiles to ensure access to the appropriate learning resources.
  • Content Management:
    • Assist with the upload and management of course materials, ensuring they are organized and up-to-date.
    • Coordinate the creation, deployment, and tracking of training content to meet the needs of various teams.
  • User Support and Training:
    • Provide ongoing support to LMS users (learners and administrators) by resolving issues and answering queries.
    • Conduct LMS training sessions for new users and develop training documentation to enhance user experience.
  • Reporting and Analytics:
    • Generate and analyze reports related to learner progress, course completions, and system usage.
    • Provide data-driven insights to leadership to inform decision-making and improve training effectiveness.
  • System Updates and Integrations:
    • Collaborate with IT and other departments to implement system updates, integrations with other software, and new features.
    • Monitor the latest trends in LMS technologies and recommend enhancements to improve functionality.
  • Compliance and Quality Assurance:
    • Ensure the LMS complies with all internal and external training requirements.
    • Maintain data integrity and accuracy in all LMS records.

Qualifications

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Education, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 2 years of experience administering an LMS, preferably with a strong understanding of systems such as Moodle, Blackboard, or Cornerstone.
    • Experience with SCORM, AICC, or xAPI standards for online learning.
    • Strong technical skills with experience troubleshooting LMS-related issues.
  • Skills:
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with internal teams and end-users.
    • Strong attention to detail, organizational, and time-management skills.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and reporting tools.
    • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of data privacy regulations related to eLearning (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
