Start With The ARt

As a partnership between MindSpring and Kendall College of Art and Design of Ferris State University (KCAD of FSU), the Th3 KCAD XR Lab provides students with a creative, low-stress, intellectually-stimulating environment to explore and design VR, AR, and MR experiences. The combination of these fields is known as extended reality (XR). Students will have one-on-one time with professionals, building both a portfolio and network to pursue employment after graduation. Several Michigan-based Fortune 500 companies and global software leaders have already expressed interest in supporting the Th3 KCAD XR Lab. This intersection of academia and enterprise will further propel Grand Rapids as a marker leader for the emerging creative economy.

Th3rdEyeXR was established by MindSpring when we they noticed a gap in enterprise news coverage for the field of extended reality (XR) – the catchall industry term encompassing virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), and mixed reality (MR). While many news sites cover XR news, most are geared towards gaming, entertainment, or to the general consumer. Th3rdEyeXR, on the other hand, specifically targets the interests of an enterprise audience, providing insights on development, trends, and practical use cases to the world of business.

Ultimately, Th3rdEyeXR strives to raise the professional community’s base-level understanding of XR, enabling them to harness and implement the power of this immersive, emerging technology to transform their business operations, improve their products, and create a better future for all.
