Position overview

The Learning Solutions Architect (LSA) is a critical member of MindSpring sales team and is responsible for helping to craft compelling proposals that demonstrate MindSpring’s learning expertise and provide the client with a cohesive picture of the work MindSpring will perform and the value it creates. The LSA will interface directly with the sales team and potential clients to understand the client’s needs and collaborate with the learning team to develop a scope of work that provides high value and actionable results.

This opportunity requires a deep technical understanding of instructional design, as well as the ability to understand and draft compelling proposals that highlight MindSpring’s unique deliverables. The successful candidate will also possess strong interpersonal skills and communicate effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide support to the sales team during client meetings and engagements.
  • Distill customer needs into action-oriented deliverables. Coordinate with the learning team, as needed, to develop and draft custom scopes of work.
  • Provide costing and resource estimates to support proposal pricing.
  • Interface directly with customers to answer questions relating to the proposals or to refine scope of work content. Assist in proposal and contract negotiations, as needed.
  • Facilitate contract hand-off to project execution teams and provide full and clear handover on technical requirements to the learning development team.
  • Attend project kickoffs.
  • Actively provide pre and post sales support to customers and prospects.
  • Provide assessments and recommendations of learning and development services.
  • Work collaboratively as a member of the sales team to meet sales goals, identify new opportunities, and grow the business.
  • Build relationships with prospects (especially with instructional design contacts).
  • Prepare product evaluation/ “proof of concept” materials and provide first line support to prospects who are evaluating those materials.
  • Disseminate instructional design and learning expertise to sales team.
  • Identify opportunities to promote new services to customers.
  • Develop and maintain deep knowledge of MindSpring services and technologies.
  • Work collaboratively with Operations, Design, Development, and Finance teams.

 

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of experience and knowledge
  • Excellent presentation and demonstration skills
  • Open and collaborative – maintains strong internal relationships
  • Maintains a detailed knowledge of MindSpring products and services
  • Understanding of both sales and instructional design
  • Proven working experience in instructional design and with instructional technology
  • Excellent knowledge of learning theories and instructional design models
  • Lesson and curriculum planning skills
  • Solid knowledge of course development software and at least one Learning Management System
  • Ability to write effective copy, instructional text, audio scripts/video scripts

 

A Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) from a four-year college or university. Candidate must have exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills. The ability to speak effectively before customers and employees is necessary. Must be able to understand and capture customer business requirements and provide sound solutions based on company portfolio of products and services. Superb written and phone communication skills are essential. Candidate must be detail oriented and able to write clear, specific proposals and statements of work.
