The Motor Vehicle Manufacturers Americas L&D team faced significant challenges in the wake of a cyberattack and the global pandemic, which severely disrupted organizational knowledge. This situation led to noticeable variations in the knowledge and skills of Team Leaders, Supervisors, and EPU Managers across different locations, shifts, and teams. The addition of new plants, new programs, and increased turnover underscored the need for a standardized training program to set expectations and provide just-in-time learning opportunities for new leadership positions. This standardization was crucial for the growth and long-term success of the Motor Vehicle Manufacturers’ business unit.
In response, the Motor Vehicle Manufacturers’ L&D team engaged MindSpring to help design and develop the organization’s first e-learning and Live-Action-Video (LAV) curriculum. The partnership officially began with MindSpring adopting a multi-pronged approach to tackle the challenge.
Met with company leaders, employees, and the L&D team identified support strategies, resistance, and key stakeholders.
Organized tasks, identified critical skills, and addressed location discrepancies, leading to job competencies and alignment between internal stakeholders.
Collaborated with stakeholders to create a curriculum map, capturing role responsibilities across locations.
Expanded curricula into major topics, finalizing objectives, solutions, assessments, and reinforcement options.
MindSpring analyzed and began to design three tailored learning programs for the Motor Vehicle Manufacturers’ leadership positions. By identifying clear next steps and developing a comprehensive e-learning curriculum, we paved a path to help empower leaders with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in their roles. This standardized training program set clear expectations and provided just-in-time learning opportunities, addressing variations in knowledge and skills and supporting the growth and longterm success of the business unit.
